Natural beauty products continue to gain in popularity as more and more consumers learn about the harmful effects of toxic chemicals found in today’s most common cosmetics. Becky Tountas, a certified holistic health coach, will discuss the basics of natural beauty supplies at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences, located at 120 Long Beach Blvd. in Loveladies, on Saturday, Aug. 9, from 11 a.m. to noon.
“Becky enjoys making her own lip balm, body butters, body scrubs and salves,” said Amy CarreƱo, director of public programs at LBIF. “She will show us how to make our own salt scrub and will be having homemade beauty product giveaways. This workshop is great for people looking to rejuvenate their skin, to feel better from the outside in.”
Tountas will also discuss the benefits of using simple ingredients such as sand and ocean water to improve the look and health of skin. A demonstration on how to use these ingredients to make all-natural beauty products will be provided.
The fee for the class is $10. Pre-registration is not required as drop-ins are welcome.
