Wear white for Surflight Theatre fundraiser on Aug. 8

Glistening crystals, white streamers and balloons will adorn The Gables Inn and Restaurant in Beach Haven during the White Party on Friday, Aug. 8. The event, being held from 6 to 10 p.m., will serve as a fundraiser to benefit the Surflight Theatre in honor of its 65th anniversary.

The event will be held at The Gables Inn.
Guests in attendance are encouraged to laugh, eat, drink and dance — and, of course, wear white.
“It’s just so right for the Island that we should all wear white and have a wonderful fundraiser for Surflight,” said Sondra Beninati, owner of The Gables and a Surflight Theatre board member. “We’re telling folks that they can wear shorts, T-shirts; we don’t care. They can dress up or down. Just wear white.”
Delicious hors d’oeuvres as well as a champagne fountain will be available throughout the night.
Live music by Killer Joe and the Lido Soul Review will be performed in the garden.
“They’re a fabulous cover band with a lot of sound and a lot of soul,” said Beninati, who happened to see the band perform at a B.B. King concert in New York City.
Stars from Surflight’s “Spamalot,” set to perform July 30 through Aug. 24, will also be singing songs during the party.
“There’s going to be a lot of different music going on,” said Beninati. “It’s fun, the music is great, and people can dance their asses off and just have a great time.”
Tickets to the event cost $125 per person. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
