Stockton instructor to share his soldier experience through poetry at school's Manahawkin site

Richard M. O’Meara, a retired brigadier general in the U.S. Army and trial attorney who teaches Holocaust and genocide studies at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, will share stories of war and peace at Stockton’s Manahawkin Instructional Site Wednesday, July 9. The one-hour lecture, titled “Steppin’ Out Tales From the Trail,” will begin at 2 p.m.
O’Meara, who retired from the Army Reserves in 2002 after 36 years of service, has experienced war and peace in multiple locations, including Vietnam, Panama and Iraq. As a qualified emergency medical technician, he also served at the site of the World Trade Center during the months after 9/11. His book of poetry, Steppin’ Out, chronicles much of his journey.
