The band's latest album is currently number
one on the Billboard World Album.
Celtic rock band Gaelic Storm will get the audience in the St. Patrick’s Day groove during its performance at Stockton University’s Performing Arts Center, located in Galloway Township, on Sunday, March 8, at 4 p.m. The group, known for performing on the same bill with acts ranging from the Zac Brown Band and Goo Goo Dolls to Emmylou Harris and Lyle Lovett, is back with the number one Billboard World Album, The Boathouse – “a seafaring album of traditional songs of the ocean, recorded in one whiskey-fueled week in a converted boathouse on the Chesapeake Bay,” a press release states. The album is the first release from Gaelic Storm’s “Small Batch Sessions,” a new series that will offer exclusive releases available for purchase only on the band’s website and at its live shows.
The group has now had four consecutive albums debut on the charts at number one. Their rock sensibility and rare crossover appeal have allotted them more than 1 million catalog sales.
“With their signature acoustic production, Gaelic Storm blends indie-folk and world grooves with Celtic tradition to bring you 12 tales of plight and plunder, whiskey-drenched pirates, flying cannon balls and ladies of ill-repute,” the statement reads. “Ready your sea legs; you’ll need them for The Boathouse!”
Tickets cost $32 and may be ordered online at stocktonpac.org, or by calling the box office at 609-652-9000. The office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 90 minutes before the performance. For group sales, call 609-652-4786.
For patrons with special needs, PAC offers wheelchair-accessible seating, large-type programs and listening assistive devices. Identify any needs when making a reservation.
